our adoption scripture

Andy and I attended the C12 Annual Member's Banquet in Greensboro last week. The gift given to the spouses was a plaque with the word "Trust" on it. Engraved behind it was Proverbs 3:5-6. As I read it, I realized how much it encompassed our past few years. We've truly had to trust God's goodness, even when we didn't understand it. After desperately trying to seek his will, we felt the Lord graciously leading us to move forward with adopting from China. I know this verse will continue to be a help to us as we wade through the waters of this whole process. I hope you'll find it to be an encouragement too:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; Do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." Proverbs 3:5-6

After realizing this was a great verse for us, I looked up the company who made the plaques, Lighthouse Christian Products Co. They make a variety of items but the cool part is that a portion of their proceeds go to New Day Foster Home whose mission is to provide "life-saving surgeries and a loving home to orphans with special needs from around China"!!! Coincidence? I know better!
