China day 1 {traveling mercies}

Hello from Hong Kong!

We made it safe and sound. Our prayer for traveling mercies was answered! Thank you all for lifting us up - we felt it, for sure.

Our moms picked us up at the house at 9:30 am on Wednesday to catch our 12:35 pm flight out of RDU. We easily made our way through security, found our gate and then grubbed on some Five Guys for lunch, knowing familiar foods could be few and far between in China.
We both felt so calm and the typical stress of airports just did not seem to be present. Everything was easy. We only had about about an hour in Detroit to catch our next flight but made it in plenty of time. By about 4:00 pm, those airplane wheels had left US soil. 15 hours later, we touched down in Hong Kong. The flight was excellent - not nearly as miserable as I was preparing for. It was long, that's for sure, but not terrible.
By 9:00 pm, we were in our (fabulous) hotel room, staring out onto the neon lights of the harbour. After some tylenol pm, we were out and woke up around 7:15 am. Not bad for a 12 hour time-change! We've felt great today and are wondering when it's going to hit us.
More to come later on our 1st day in Hong Kong. We're off to find some sushi.

3 more sleeps, sweet Goose!

  2. Yay! You're in Hong Kong!!! SO, so close to your Goose!!! Praising God for traveling mercies! We didn't suffer from much jet lag on the way over either. Coming home was a bit more but it just allowed for 2am play times with my sweetie and that was just fine with Mommy!

    Praying for you and your precious Lucy.
