perspective

I mentioned I'm taking an 8-week photography class. The only reason I felt I could do this right now is because there's no set meeting day or time. It's a facebook group, with a weekly assignment to complete...on my own schedule. I'll admit, practicing on a moving target has been a little challenging :) But fun.

One of the items to practice this week is perspective. Trying not to take every photo standing up at eye-level. After a few many shots of the top of Lucy's head, I ended up with this one. And keep coming back to look at it! I've had such a hard time capturing some of her many smiling faces and this one finally shows a little bit of her sweet side. The side that melts my heart.

These eyes are the same ones that captivated me on Aug 20. Because her pupils match her eye color, the depth of her gaze is striking. I still stare at them at least once a day, remembering how it felt in that very moment.

Being her momma definitely has me working on perspective. You all keep telling me these days will fly by, and I believe you! I want to soak up every moment, making them count.

  3. I am in the same class and have so enjoyed following your blog to Lucy. I have 6 kids the youngest being adopted from China. This photo tells a story and that is the whole point. Way to go... I need to get out and shoot some more.
