happy (Chinese) new year!

Last year we rang in the Year of the Dragon with a local Chinese family. And our sweet friends invited us again this year to celebrate the Year of the Snake.
The trouble is, they don't get the party started until 10:00 pm.
Which was no problem last year!
But this year...we have a little addition that wouldn't do well staying up that late.
Which is quite alright. We're hoping she'll be ready to party next year.
So today for fun, I dressed her up in her beautiful silks, and attempted my first little photo shoot.
I didn't have a clue, but thought these turned out okay for my first "try," and not really knowing what in the world I'm doing. :)
When the subject is too cute for words, it certainly helps overlook any lack of expertise on my part!

Happy Year of the Snake!

  1. I think your pictures are breathtaking!! And your daughter is as well! I remembered it was Chinese New Year as we headed out to brunch (bad adoptive momma) and declared it a celebration brunch. If I'd remembered earlier, maybe we would've thrown on some silks.
